I started getting interested in the stock market when I was fifteen years old. My dad introduced me to the world of investing, and I immediately became engrossed with the concept of compound interest. Compound interest basically means that you make money off of your own money. It means your money is literally working for you to make you more money. This concept prompted Albert Einstein to famously call compound interest “the eighth wonder of the world.” As I continued to research and invest my own money into the stock market, I still felt like I was an outsider in casual conversations about finance. I was almost scared to jump into conversations when guys in my class would be talking about cryptocurrencies and their latest investments. I have realized that the way I was feeling is damaging which is why my goal is to create a space and open environment to empower girls to be open to the world of investing.
